Indifference Curve is basically a curve showing combination of goods that gives same level of utility i.e. the consumer is indifferent.
Left to right is the direction of this Indifference Curve which is because of the reason that if a consumer has to increase consumption of one more unit of one good, he must sacrifice one unit of other good in order to maintain same level of satisfaction.
And a set of indifference curve having different level of satisfaction is called an Indifference Map.
Now this negatively sloped Indifference Curve have some characteristics :
1. Become less steep as we move down to the right.
2. IC is convex to its origin
3. IC never intersect.
4. IC to the right represent higher level of satisfaction.
